BUCKINGHAMSHIRE COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will temporarily prohibit any person from proceeding, except for access, in those lengths of Public Footpath No. 18, Wing and Public Footpath No. 1, Cublington and temporarily prohibit any person from proceeding on foot, horseback, or riding a pedal cycle, except for access, in those lengths of Public Bridleway No. 20, Middle Claydon and Public Bridleway No. 33, Grendon Underwood as specified in the Schedule below.
The closures are required whilst footbridge repair works take place and it is anticipated that the works will commence on 12 June 2020 and will take approximately 6 months to complete.
The alternative routes for those affected by the closures will be via the existing public highway network.
The Order will come into operation on 12 June 2020 when the appropriate signs are lawfully displayed and will continue for a period not exceeding six months or until the said works have been completed whichever is the earlier.
Penalties for not observing these restrictions will be as prescribed in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Road Traffic Act 1991.
SCHEDULE
- Public Footpath No. 18, Wing at the footbridge 540 metres south-west of the church at OS grid reference SP 87537.28348. Only the length of the footbridge is closed.
- Public Footpath No. 1, Cublington at the footbridge 700 metres south-west of the medieval village site at OS grid reference SP 82549.21894. Only the length of the footbridge is closed.
- Public Bridleway No. 20, Middle Claydon and Public Bridleway No. 33, Grendon Underwood from Knowlhill Farm to the edge of Romer Wood, a distance of approximately 1200 metres.
