The future of Wing Youth Club?

The future of Wing Youth Club?

After more than 10 years’ working for the Youth Club, Martin and Liz have now decided that they can no longer be available to serve the Youth Club. They have other projects they wish to pursue whilst they still have the health and the energy.

Martin and Liz have been trying to find other people to replace them for several months but without success. Without a management committee to lead the youth club, we would be left in the unfortunate situation of having to close.

Could you help? Any new committee members will be given thorough support, guidance and training by Action4Youth – a local voluntary youth organisation, who support youth provision throughout Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes.

The club itself is running really well, currently has over 50 members, a fantastic youth leader and volunteers, although more volunteers are always welcomed.

To help you here is an idea of what being on the management committee involves:

  • The management committee member does not need to get involved with the week to week running of the Club, but they do oversee the management team; this means
  • ensuring that policies are in place to protect children and volunteers, and that volunteers are properly trained, and that
  • the money available is spent appropriately and wisely, and that
  • proper records are kept.

Committee Members need not work long hours and may only meet infrequently.
