You will be responsible for the smooth running of the Parish Council together with the Deputy Clerk/RFO. Ideally you will be an experienced Parish Clerk, but this is not essential
Job duties includes:
Attending all meetings of the Council, including a weekly day surgery, preparing agendas, take minutes and liaise with other agencies, handle tendering procedures, preparing documentations for audits, monitor and implement policies, administer all the council’s paperwork and ensures that the council conducts its business lawfully
You will have strong IT skills and be highly organised with excellent administration abilities. Experience in Finance / Accounts duties such as bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, budgeting is a strong advantage.
At present the clerk works from home, attends day and evening meetings and a weekly surgery in the library, but this might change in the future. The position is for a minimum of 20 hrs/ week , paid monthly (NJC pay scales).
