The Council

Councillors are elected by the voters of Wing, but may be co-opted if a vacancy exists and there are no contenders for the post.

The offices of Chair and Vice-Chair are subject to re-election each year at the Annual Parish Meeting:

Chair: Councillor Sarah Roe
Vice-Chair: Councillor John Lomas

Other members of the Council:

Councillor Mark Kelly
Councillor Charlotte Hellgren-Derry
Councillor John Benson
Councillor Louise Tabiner-Crush
Councillor Helen McGwyre

Two recently co-opted councillors have yet to sign their declaration of acceptance.

A vacancy on the Parish Council occurred following the April meeting and some of you may have seen the notices seeking applications for a replacement. As they are entitled to do, a number of parishioners have requested that a by-election be held (instead of the Parish Council co-opting a volunteer) and arrangements for this to happen are in the hands of AVDC, who advertised the vacancy and sought nominations.  If there are more candidates than vacancies, AVDC will arrange an election, the costs of which will fall to the Parish.
